Dauphin Island, Alabama
Dauphin Island, Alabama is a barrier Island in the Gulf of Mexico about 33 miles south of Mobile, AL. Dauphin Island is accessible by land via the Dauphin Island Bridge, and by ferry service from nearby Gulf Shores, AL.

There are several different areas to consider when choosing a Dauphin Island vacation rental; there are beach house rentals and beach condo rentals along the Gulf of Mexico beach (commonly called the West End) and also the north shore of Dauphin Island (the Bay, or the Sound). Many families choose to stay on the Bay side of Dauphin Island, for the calmer waters are easier for small children to play and splash around, and it is easy to beach a jetski, or small craft along the shore. For those who prefer the Gulf of Mexico beach, Dauphin Island has approximately 7 miles of public beach, and at the far West End of the Island, you can find parking, restrooms, and a variety of vendors offering food, drinks and rentals of various beach equipment.

Our properties cannot accept RV parking (although there are places to park an RV on the Island)., Parking is limited at many properties on the Island, so please be sure to check with us about the number of parking spots available at your Dauphin Island rental.
What is there to do on Dauphin Island? For starters, you can see the Dauphin Island Attractions area of our website for a directory of local Attractions. Other Dauphin Island activities include beachcombing, swimming, fishing, shellling, kayaking, paddleboarding, crabbing, surfing and just plain relaxing!! Evenings are often spent grilling out (all of our properties have either a gas or charcoal grill available), followed by family activities, such as night crabbing, board games, etc. Of course, all of our properties have either Cable or Satellite TV, and WIFI Internet as well.

During the Summer, Dauphin Island beach house rentals are Weekly Rentals, renting from Saturday-Saturday. Beach condos are more flexible; our Dauphin Island Condo Rentals require a 3 night minimum stay during the busy Summer season.
